When it comes to search engine optimization services, I’ve got a word of advice: be careful. I’ve studied SEO on a daily basis for the past five years, and, I’ve really seen this industry explode. And, one of the disturbing things about the whole game is it’s just too easy for anybody to say, “I’m an SEO.” And, the misleading things I’ve seen people communicate while, quite frankly, tricking people into thinking that their SEO services are more competent than what they indeed are…
I realize that may not sound too friendly; but, when it comes to everything about optimizing sites to rank for competitive queries in Google…well, there’s not really anything friendly about it. And, like I said…I’ve been following the SEO game closely for a number of years now. I’ve been personally making money based upon ranking my own websites. And, I’ve seen how it’s changed. My income has fluctuated with its actual changes, and, I learned how to adjust in order to survive…and, even thrive.
So, for the individuals and companies in the Harrisburg area who are seeking SEO services, I offer this advice: don’t pay for the work hours until you get some type of agreed upon results. See, this keeps everybody nice and honest. And, for the search engine optimization and search engine marketing service’s work hours provided by Webglad, this is our policy. That’s called putting your money where your mouth is. Talk is cheap. Results are what makes the real noise. Look around and tell me how many of my competitors have the same policy.
And, when I see so-called SEO companies persuading people that ranking for their own company name is some type of accomplishment…the dishonesty of it just really bothers me. Let me be more specific to illustrate the point. If you have a company named Jasmine’s Baked Goods, and, you create a website called JasminesBakedGoods.com…okay…ranking #1 in Google for “Jasmines baked goods” isn’t really any type of accomplishment. That’s just not a difficult task to accomplish. And, the companies that present it like it’s a difficult task that warrants considerable payment are just plain-and-simple deceiving the public. What’s more challenging, and, what will actually put money in your pocket, is ranking for something that in the real world people are actually searching for…something like “buy cookies in Harrisburg.”
There’s a lot of misleading information in this industry.
Like I said…it might not sound nice…but, that’s just the way it is…and, our Central Pennsylvania and Harrisburg companies and individuals deserve much better than that. They deserve to get what they pay for. In fact, WebGlad believes that they deserve to get a value that exceeds what they pay for! Now, I’m not sure about you; but, if I personally were looking to hire a company, that’s exactly the type of company I’d want to hire!
As I indicated earlier, the SEO game has changed a lot over the past five years. A lot of the cheap tricks that would zoom me to the top just don’t work any more. These days what’s popular is building links through things like link-baiting and various social networking avenues. As for me, the foundation of my philosophy is that if you put up some really killer, unique content; the links will come naturally. And, to an extent that’s true…but, we do have ways to help them along.
