Great Web Resources | Webglad.com

It's All About Clicks Leading To Clicks

Sometimes the web strikes me as magical. I mean... it's amazing, and, it's opened up so many possibilities to me and my life... it's really expanded not only my knowledge and horizons, but also ... just my basic way of thinking. And, for the better!

Some web developers avoid linking to other sites, because, they feel they'll best be able to keep the visitor from surfing away, if links are kept to a minimal. I must admit, when I first started, this was actually my approach. Well, if you've looked through this site, you've probably discovered that it's no longer my way of doing things.

The web (people forget this) is supposed to be fun also! And, people return to sites that are enjoyable. And, they link to sites that are enjoyable. And talk about these same sites. On my sites, I like to include links to quality resources, and, you know, if your content is high quality, people will come back. And, if you update your content frequently, people will come back big time.

So, that having been said, since you're interested in web development, here are a few sites that have really helped me. Big thanks goes out to them.

Bravenet Html + Css Tutorials : Another good resource which provides a solid overview of hypertext and cascading style sheets.

Some Other Web Aspects

About RSS and Feeds: The Feedster site really breaks it down about what's going on with RSS (Really Simple Syndication.) This is a good intro.

Voyeur Web : How to find out what people are web-searching for. You can learn a lot using this approach: particularly when deciding what project to develop. If you're anything like me, you're always developing at least one : ).

What Is Web 2.0? : This gets a little deep at points, but, it will give an understanding of where the web is at right now and how it got to that point.

Differences Between XHTML and HTML : Something that web developers should understand.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About .htaccess : You may want to skip this one : ) It's very important, but, if I didn't need to know the info, I definitely would skip ...

SEO

Seo Scoop : this search engine optimization blog will keep you pretty well informed.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista Babble : Windows Vista is the latest, forth coming version of Microsoft's operating system. If you're like me, you're pretty curious and anxious to see what Vista offers. This is the spot to stay current.
