Well, social bookmarking is certainly something that I take advantage of and also something that I recommend to all of my clients as one (of several) ways to build both direct traffic and, ultimately, promote and strengthen a project’s serps.

I was thinking of putting a list together, but, like so many things like that, it’s just not necessary. Others have done very competent work in compiling social bookmarking lists. Like this one.

One of the cooler and well-executed social bookmark sites is Squidoo; though, be careful or you could while away some serious time over there! And, another SB site that seems to set itself a bit apart conceptually is ClipClip.

In addition, another web-based tool that I recently started using, OnlyWire, is quite convenient as through their single interface you can silmultaneously submit an article to (currently) 17 social bookmarking sites. The list includes Backflip, Blinklist, Furl, Simpy, etc.Maybe you’re like me and wondering how many of these sites will be around five years from now. Well, I’ll tell you my prediction: not many. But, the survivors will be the big, solid ones like digg and del.icio.us etc.
