How To Set-up Google Analytics With WordPress
Lately I’ve had several phone calls from people who wanted to know how to set-up Google Analytics for their WordPress blogs. I understand, of course, why they’re interested. G Analytics provides a lot of killer tracking information that allows a site owner to get a deep look into a lot of aspects of her or his web game.
Well, this isn’t intended to be an exhaustive tutorial. I just like to point people in the right direction so they can have the joy of figuring a bit out themselves. But, setting up G Analytics with WordPress is really pretty simple.
First thing you need to do is set-up what’s called a Google Account. Once you do that, you go to the Google Analytics sign-up page, and, you sign-in by using your Google Account info.
From there, it’s pretty obvious how you enter in your site url so you can get your Google Analytics code chunk. Now, as far as adding the code to your blog…the easiest way would just be to go here, and, scroll to the bottom of the page and download the sem-google-analytics zip folder.
Upload the plugin to your content folder and activate it. Go to the SETTINGS tab in your BLOG ADMIN area. Then, select Google Analytics. Paste your code in the appropriate spot, and, you’re good to go.
