Speed Up And Improve Firefox

Okay, I’ve been meaning to post about Firefox for our clients. To begin, Firefox is a browser, so, it serves the same function that Internet Explorer does, but, Firefox just seems to do everything a bit (or a lot) better: security, stability, functionality (such as tabbed browsing), and extensions (such as mouse gestures, etc.) This isn’t to say it’s perfect. It isn’t. And, there have been FF exploits (which quickly get patched of course.) Anyway, the browser, at this moment, is 1.5.07.

I’ve been enjoying FF for at least a few years now, and, it’s the browser I use pretty much exclusively for my own personal web-surfing. I pretty much only use IE for testing websites, because, that’s still what the majority out there are using.

Anyway, I came across an article that detials how to improve the (already nice) performance of FF. I haven’t tried the tips yet, but, it seems promising, and, I note the article here for future experimenting.

Also, last week I picked up an informative book from the library: don’t click on the blue e! written by Scott Granneman and published by O’Reilly. If you’ve got a little free time and you feel like learning Firefox inside-and-out, look for that book.

Also, over at the Mozilla site are a whole ton of tweaks, tips, and tricks to let you have some more fun with firefox.
